Celebrate the summer solstice with a Stevens Creek Trail bike ride

The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and Friends of Stevens Creek Trail are slated to host a free summer solstice bike ride on the Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

The event will feature two routes: A six-mile ride described as “a family-friendly, supportive group ride best for our newest and youngest riders,” and a 15-mile ride that “will more extensively showcase the creek and its surroundings,” according to the eventbrite page

Both rides will have support available for any mechanical issues and will include activities and education, according to the event description.

Food, wine and beer walk comes to downtown Mountain View

The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Association are scheduled to host a food, wine and beer walk in downtown Mountain View from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12.

The Taste of Mountain View event will be held along Castro Street. Restaurants and other businesses will offer bites of food paired with wine or craft beers, according to the Chamber. There will also be live music. The event is described as being family friendly.

Tickets for food and drinks are $70. Food only tickets are $40.

The Mountain View Voice is among the event’s sponsors.

Downtown Friday evening concert series set to start

Concerts on the Plaza, the downtown summer concert series, is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 7.

Every Friday from June through September, a different musical performance is planned from 6-7:30 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St.

The Cheeseballs, described as a “high energy dance band,” are slated to kick off the series on June 7.
