Looking for a way to escape the heat? Recreation swim at Eagle Park Pool is free for Mountain View residents from Tuesday through Thursday this week due to the hot weather.
Anyone who lives in Mountain View can use the pool for free from 1:15-3:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as 1-6:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July, according to the city of Mountain View.
Non-residents will continue to be charged the regular rates. That’s $5 for children 3-17 years old and $6 for adults. A family day pass is $20 for non-residents.
Eagle Park Pool is located near downtown Mountain View at 650 Franklin St.
The city’s other public pool facility at Rengstorff Park is currently closed for construction.
With temperatures expected to get well into the 90s this week, the city is also offering air-conditioned cooling centers at the Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave., Police Services Fire Administration Building, 1000 Villa St. and Mountain View Public Library, 585 Franklin St.
However, the library closed on Tuesday afternoon “due to excessive heat in the building,” according to the library’s website.
Throughout the region, there are more than 20 cooling centers open this week. Check out our list of cooling centers, including an interactive map of the locations.
