Jennifer Sarmento started the Kyle J. Taylor foundation in May 2018 in honor of her son, who passed away from sudden cardiac arrest just a few months earlier. She and her husband have worked tirelessly to help raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrests and work towards preventing them.

When the school board passed Mountain View Whisman's 2024-25 budget last month, it projected a $4.1 million deficit. The district is now preparing for the possibility of an even larger shortfall after the city and school district failed to reach an agreement to share Shoreline tax revenue.

Revelations that Julie Lythcott-Haims was in a relationship with a Stanford student in 2011, when she was a dean, have left her in political limbo. On Thursday, the Palo Alto council member told this publication that she is stepping down from three committees relating to youth and Stanford University.
