The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Friday calls for mostly cloudy skies during the day and up to 60 percent chance of rain at night, with patchy fog in some areas.

Daytime highs will be mostly reaching the 60s in the Bay Area. Overnight lows are expected to be mostly in the upper 40s, with some areas around the bay dropping into the lower 50s. Forecasters say dry weather conditions will prevail through Friday night.

Then, the next cold front will bring rain starting also on Friday night for the North Bay, Saturday morning for the Bay Area, and mid-day Saturday for the Central Coast.

The NWS expects a series of systems will bring more impactful rain, strong wind, and high surf this weekend. Showers are expected to continue through the middle of next week, according to forecasters.

A High Surf Advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday through 4 p.m. Sunday for San Francisco, Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes, National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast Counties.
