Local residents who died recently include:

Donald E. Rhoades, 91, a Redwood City resident, who grew up in Palo Alto and graduated from Palo Alto High School, served in the U.S. Navy, who was a Kaiser Permanente Aluminum & Chemicals Corporation project manager and who was a pilot of over 50 years, on July 16, 2024.

Lynn E. Fielder, 62, who raised her daughter Maya in a multi-generational household in Palo Alto, was a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, was a former Library of Congress employee, who wrote a memoir ‘Attitude is Everything,’ and who curated artist events at Palo Alto’s Vino Locale, on July 1, 2024. 

Nancy A. Sicotte, 92, a Palo Alto resident, who was an active member of her community, serving on PTAs and Stanford Alumni associations, whose hobbies included family genealogy, needlepoint, quilting, cooking and music, and who cherished relationships was the group of women who formed a bridge group in the late 1950s and played on a biweekly basis for over 60 years into the current decade, on June 30, 2024.

Mary A. Early, 100, a Palo Alto resident and mother of eight who was a dedicated homemaker, and devout Catholic, she shared her love of art and lifelong belief in the power of faith, love, hope, and charity with her many descendants, who studied at Parsons School of Design in New York City before earning a bachelor’s degree at St. Mary of the Woods College, and who was married to James M. Early, a pioneer in the semiconductor industry, on July 10, 2024.
